Toward No Drugs – High School

Are your high school students at risk of using tobacco, alcohol or drugs? Are you looking for a program that can help pull them back from the ledge? Then, Managed Care Center and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission have an answer that is completely funded through the State of Texas.

Toward No Drugs was designed specifically for high school students so they may gain more awareness not only of the dangers of alcohol and drug use but, even more important, how to avoid situations that might lead to use. This extends also to tobacco and marijuana since, like alcohol, these can often be perceived as “safe” when they are anything but.

Some of the areas covered in our Toward No Drugs program are :

  • Correct Drug Use Information
  • Myths and Denials
  • The Facts about Chemical Dependency
  • Stress and Health
  • Tobacco Use Cessation
  • The Truth About Marijuana
  • Behavior Loops and Perspectives
  • Decision Making and Commitments

If you believe that Toward No Drugs is right for your high school students, call us today at 806.780.8300 to schedule an appointment with one of our Toward No Drugs Program Coordinators. We will be happy to work with you to build the right program at no cost to your school district, city, or county.

There are many in our community who want to believe that our children don’t have any problems with tobacco or drugs. This is not at all true. Some of our kids do have problems. This program did wonders for getting both our youth and their parents to open their eyes. Thanks to the hard work the teachers did, our school and city has faced its problems head on.

The course goes so far beyond the whole “just say no” business. It gave us the facts and more than that – the information and tools we need to understand just how dangerous tobacco and drugs can be.
